Shanock.com

Shanock.com is a server currently hosted on a COX SOHO Business line. It is built and maintained by Walter Heitman Jr. a.k.a. Shanock. It hosts serveral websites, including domain names, and runs public servers of various types (see Hosted Pages for details).

01MAR09 - The Shanock.com server upgrade is mostly done. A few wrinkles left, but all the critical systems are working. Among the major changes are a 64-bit operating system, new processor, more and faster memory, and striping and/or mirroring of all data. See complete specs here.
26FEB09 - I've upgraded my PC, and am hand-me-down'ing my old hardware for a major upgrade to the shanock.com server. Expect the update to take place within a week. I estimate half an hour of downtime, with a number of reboots before and after for configuration tweaks.
08SEP08 - I enabled xinetd-managed VNC access. See the updated welcome PDF for details. Fixed the telnet server (I really need to find an SSH java client). Keeping up with software updates, as always.
